The Equipment Service division started its operation with a dedicated toll free number to report any service needed for any biomedical equipment supplied by KMSCL - 1800 425 0004. A software driven Equipment Management System – EMS was also made available for reporting the breakdowns, preventive maintenances, performance security monitoring. All KMSCL equipment suppliers were intensely monitored by ES team and any tendency to delay the services shall be courteously taken up and ensure the uptime of equipment. All the breakdowns were logged individually and calls shall close with service closure reports. The preventive maintenance to be done shall be informed each month to supplier and the PM done reports shall also be collected for each equipment. The performance security shall be released based on the evaluation of the performance in the breakdown closure, PM done and all warranty obligations. The Biomedical Equipment Maintenance & Management Programme (BEMMP) - a project designed for the maintenance of all biomedical equipment available at Govt. health facilities (PHC/ CHC/ GH/ GH/ Special Institution/ etc) under the Directorate of Health Services. KMSCL Equipment Services division plays the pivotal role in the operation of BEMMP such as day to day monitoring of single point third party service provider, smooth collaboration of other equipment suppliers with BEMMP service provider, ensuring the Preventive Maintenances, Calibration and Certification requirements for quality assessment of the institutions. The equipment available in the health facilities are bar-coded and a 24 x 7 IVRS based call centre is established with toll free 1800 2700 690 to register the complaints of the equipment along with an online software monitoring system. The tenacity of service support from any suppliers is the key ingredient to utilize the proposed goal of an equipment to its maximum. The Equipment Service division of KMSCL gives paramount importance to this and plays an invisible role in the upkeep of biomedical equipment under the department of Health, Govt. of Kerala.
